BigYap ("we", "us", or "our") operates thebigyap.com and the Audio Center desktop application. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. We believe in minimal data collection.

Audio Center Desktop App

Audio Center records audio on your local machine. Your recordings are never uploaded to BigYap servers. All recorded files stay on your device and are under your full control.

When you activate a Pro license, the app may collect and transmit the following to our license verification endpoint:

• Your license key (transmitted over HTTPS, stored as a secure hash — the raw key is never retained by our servers)
• A stable, locally-generated device identifier (stored as a one-way hash)
• App version number

This information is used solely to validate your Pro subscription status and track device activations. It is not shared with third parties.

Your license key may be stored locally by the app to allow offline activation checks. The app does not transmit audio data, file contents, or any personal information beyond the above.

Our website may use standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, referring URL, timestamp) to diagnose issues and monitor uptime. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns.

If you complete a purchase, payment is handled by a third-party processor (e.g., Stripe). We receive a confirmation and a subscription reference but do not store your full payment card details.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for site operation and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

License activation records are retained for the duration of your subscription plus a reasonable period for dispute resolution. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
